Over Rated

Haven't you notice, at times, when people say and/or do the same thing over and over, it starts to get a bit annoying. At school people, including me, tend to go through out their day doing the something over and over. It gets a bit drastic and you start to hope for something to change, but it doesn't and you are still in the same situations saying and acting the same way you've always have. It tends to happen to most of us. I recall a specific person who butts into other people’s conversation are tries to fit in to the crowd. I'm not saying that it's a bad idea to get involved with people, but it is just sad seeing him try to be accepted but fails. He does this every time I see him. It makes me wonder, are we really that desperate to be wanted to do the same thing over and over just to be noticed. Sometimes when people are except to the social world they lean to do the same actions that brought them into that state. It mostly brings them down to a world of self pity because it gets ever rated to do things again and again when no one really cares. But why must I complain it happens to most of us.

Love

In my years of reading random fairytale like novels I have fallen to the dews of love stories. As I read these books I fall into a dream-like state wishing of a person who cares for me and holds me into his comfortable, loving arms. When I read Goose Girl and Enna Burning I feel so lost in a world of compassion, love and understanding. I wish as if I was in their place, being warmed by the sweet spirit of those men who so lovely care for Isi and Enna. I feel this way because I have never had the wonderful feeling of love, not the crush love but caring and understand love of someone. I've never had that feeling Isi and Enna had and I feel as if I never will. Oh I know it sounds awfully silly but it is true, it feels so really to me. I wish for no compassion or fake love. There is something deep inside me, wanting to get out wanting to have such a life of love and romance that is portrayed in books and also movies. I wish for something I can not have so I sit here still dreaming of a life so far away.

Barns and Nobles

Since the books store, Barns and Nobles, is so big, at times it is hard to find the books you desire to purchase. One time when I was walking into Barns and Nobles I was looking for a specific book in their store, but I didn't know the author of the book and exactly where to find it in the store. I walk up to the information area to hope they knew where it was, but the line was way to long and I didn't want to wait. What was I to do? Looking for the book would probably take the same amount of time to wait for one person helping each costumer to locate their books. This system is ridiculous and highly annoying. What should Barns and Nobles do about this problem? Well, while my dear friends and I were contemplating of the subject we thought of a beautiful yet perfect idea. Just like in our local Mountain View High School library, Barns and Nobles should indefinitely set up a computer search of the books we most certainly desire to read. It is perfect, flawless. Well, all we need to do is set up the courage to bring up the idea to them and it will work wonders for future buyers.

And they lived happily ever after...

Is there really such a thing as happily ever after? In many of our common fairytales it always ends with two people in love living happily ever after. I think this is misleading because, in truth, no one lives happily ever after, there are always trials and conflict in peoples every day lives. The annoyance of screaming children and arguments that dont always settle is the hard life of happily ever after. Marriage is no picnic, there is work to be done to provide and care for the house or/and the children. This, to some, is sometimes not a happy and enjoyable time. So in truth there can be times of happiness, but it doesn't end just there; there are many heartaches and hardships in the life of happily ever after. We may say that they do live happily ever after, but it is not the end it is only the beginning of what ever life may take us.

Why do I like techno music?

When I became friends with Vanessa she brought me into the awsome world of techno music. The first time I heard the music I thought this is interensting music, it is like workout music. As I was with Vanessa I kept on listening to techno music and it made me happy and glad that I found a new intrest in music than the old and boring kind that I listen to. I like techno because it has such a fun and enjoyable beat that you can sing with, dance with and workout with. I'm glad that my friend told me about techno and gave me most of her songs. This type of music is fun and has great songs!

Is fashion shaping our world?

As I watch TV I see all of the many of the commercial ads based on the "new" fashions. All I see is pale, sickly looking stick figure models. When young girls or boys look at these models they think as if they should be as skinny as them. At school girls constantly remark, "Oh, I'm so fat," and they don't even look fat. People are comparing themselves to the models and killing themselves to look just like them by starvation. Because of the models, people have developed eating disorders and become depressed. This is hurting us and the people through out the world. I say fashion is a way to lower self-esteem and self-awareness. We just need to believe in ourselves and not what a billboard says. It is always important to be health and stay healthy, and forcing ourselves to be skinny is not healthy. Don't compare ourselves to models; they are what make the World look despicable, disgusting and unhealthy.

No one mourns the Wicked

Last year as I was sitting with my friends they all stare singing these fun songs that I've never heard of before. I kind of felt left out and noticed that everyone I talk to knows about this new Broadway musical called “Wicked”. I soon realized that, that was where the songs were from, so I had to get the sound track. When I got it for my 16th birthday I was so excited to listen to it. As I was listening I felt like I was there watching the performance felling the music as it went. Soon after I memorized all of the songs and was now in the group who knows about wicked and sings the songs. So now I ask why is the Broadway show “Wicked” so popular? For one thing it is a great Broadway performance and has wonderful music, but it means so much more than that. This “Wicked” faze has spread all over America and Europe. I think that it is so well-liked because it is the most modern Broadway and it is an extended story of a tale we all so liked and still like, "The Wizard of Oz". “Wicked” has such a touching and heart braking story for all ages to enjoy. It talks about the wicked witch and her life before she turned wicked. Just thinking about it makes me melt right off my seat. The mus ic plays suck an important role to the story and adds such a beautiful and heart warming touch . I love Wicked, listening to its music and determining the different characters thoughts and feelings towards one another and their conflicts. Ya “Wicked”!
